Expected to open before the Summer 2020 Olympics, Universal Studios Japans unveils new details on their highly anticipated Super Nintendo World!
Earlier today, Universal Studios Japan held a press conference where they revealed some excited new details involving their newest addition to the park, “Super Nintendo World.” First, was the confirmation of in park “Power Up Bands”in combination with a new mobile app which will allow you interact with the world, and collect various digital items like coins, stamps, and more while competing with others!
So far the bands are set to come in the following character designs; Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Toad, and Yoshi! You can explore, challenge, and compete in various games and activities around the land with the help of your “Power Up Band” and your phone. Think of them similar to interactive wands within the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. You don’t necessarily need them to enjoy the land, but they do amplify your experience within the area!
In addition to the “Power Up Bands” Universal Studios Japan also released a fun new music video detailing the immersive nature of this new world, and our part to play! While the video doesn’t feature the exact land itself, it’s a good 3D animated representations of what we can expect!
Check out the “We Are Born to Play” by Galantis featuring Charli XCX music video now!
Look carefully you may spot some quick peeks at the upcoming Mario Kart, and Yoshi dark ride attractions! If this doesn’t get you pumped to step into the world of Super Nintendo, I don’t know what will!
Super Nintendo World is expected to open at Universal Studios Japan this summer, followed by Universal’s sister parks in Hollywood, Orlando, and Singapore in the coming years! Stay tuned more updates and an official opening date soon!
